ARTY Application

About the Project
Art is a window into our culture and history. It acts as a form of communication and is an integral part of our society. This is the reason art has outlived many generations.
RT is an application that helps users explore art around the world, and discover the world's most incredible artworks and artists.
The Problem
Artworks deserve a lot more attention and exposure than it receives.
There’s a need to design a solution to help people re-discover their passion for art and encourage people to visit museums more often.
The Solution
"It is very frustrating that there is no app to recognize the art in museums like shazam"
My solution is an app that gathers all information about exhibitions based on user location. I decided to include a unique feature that let users scan the artwork with their phones to understand the meaning behind the art. This feature solves this problem and makes users feel more confident and connected to the art.
User Research
As a basis for the research, I published a questionnaire that was answered by 66 women and men of all ages.
Most users stated that they would be happy to use an application that gathers all the information about exhibitions and new art events.

Competitive Research
Before jumping to the next stage of the design process, I wanted to explore if any other apps are solving a similar problem. Understanding their approach, specialties and features. Finding gaps in their offerings can help in feature ideation.
Gaps identified:
Smartify
Art&culture
Artefact
1. Not based on the user's location.
2. The home screen is an overwhelming, confusing layout and long scrolls.
3. No multi-language support.
4. Search does not offer the option to choose art movements.
5. Most galleries and museums do not have an official app.
The questions that led my work process:
1. How might I help users to understand art better?
2. How might I increase users' interest in art?
3. How might I make users aware of galleries and museums near them?
4. How might I help users discover a wide range of artwork and artists?
Wireframes
The next step in my workflow is to create wireframes before moving on to the UI design.
The Design
I chose black and white colors to give a classy and sophisticated look and emphasize the artworks that may be very colorful.
The white behind the artwork on the app symbolizes the white gallery walls.
In addition, I decided to use minimal, clean and consistent icons that can match the overall design language of the app.

TYPOGRAPHY
I used sans-serif font type to make the application easy and inviting, minimizing distractions.

Welcome Arty
The artist's page contains information about them, you can explore more of their exhibitions and see more artwork.
Start searching exhibitions near you based on your location and favorite art movement.
The selected exhibition page displays important information with options to purchase tickets and learn more about the artists and their artworks.
Under the 'artworks' category, the page contains the artist's artwork from the current exhibition, with information about them.
Scanning is very quick and easy!
Users just need to scan the artwork, and the app will display all the information about it. It's a quick and intuitive way to interact.
The favorite scans are saved to a user's profile page, which also includes their tickets and a notification window.
